Chanda Schultz
Growing up as a kid in southern Saskatchewan, there wasn't much to do on the weekends except sit in my room and draw and paint. It all began back in 1990, when I saw a commercial on TV for the Art Instruction School of Minneapolis and demanded that my parents sign me up immediately. I've been drawing and painting ever since, but having graduated from Engineering, art has been my escape from reality. My recent works cover an eclectic range of subject matter and I'm drawn to a mixture of organic shapes and textures, which my medium of choice, oil, seems to capture perfectly. I strive to reproduce every detail in my paintings and drawings, from bark peeling off branches to the rusty parts of forgotten cars and tractors.
